{"id":591,"date":"2013-04-25T13:10:16","date_gmt":"2013-04-25T17:10:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/risacher.org\/jfdi\/?p=591"},"modified":"2025-09-22T13:29:46","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T17:29:46","slug":"data-strategy-at-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/risacher.org\/jfdi\/2013\/04\/data-strategy-at-10\/","title":{"rendered":"10 years of Net-Centric Data Strategy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On May 9th, 2013 it will be the 10th anniversary of the issuance of the DoD&#8217;s <a title=\"Net-Centric Data Strategy\" href=\"http:\/\/dodcio.defense.gov\/Portals\/0\/documents\/Net-Centric-Data-Strategy-2003-05-092.pdf\">Net-Centric Data Strategy<\/a>. In honor of this, I would like to highlight a collection of slides that were used (many, many times) to illustrate the concepts of net-centricity, the data strategy, Communities of Interest, and User-Defined Operational Pictures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These slides are quite dated&#8230; last updated in 2006, but there are some great illustrations and concepts that remain relevant.&nbsp; The Data Strategy was a brilliant work that had great promise for changing the way people see IT in defense, in my opinion.
